Under general supervision, performs customer service related work, field collection activities, leak survey, and other related work.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create service orders as required.
  • Create settlement agreements as required.
  • Advise customers of assistance plans.
  • Balance daily cash receipts.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Operate postage machine.
  • Operate Company vehicle in safe manner.
  • Responsible for maintenance and inventory of assigned vehicle.
  • Perform field collection activities, including but not limited to hanging past due notices, accurate accounting of daily field activities, maintain accounting of money collected in field, turn off meters for past due accounts, and read meters.
  • Maintain miscellaneous files.
  • Prepare monthly reports as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Complete all necessary training and demonstrate ability to perform "C" classification in their department within a maximum six-month period. At the end of probation, it will be determined by the company whether to dismiss, extend training, or promote to "C" classification, Meter Reader, Collector or Storekeeper B

Other Requirements:

  • Possession of a high school diploma or successful completion of the General Educational Development Test required.
  • Possess valid driver's license, be eligible for company-provided vehicle insurance, drive a Company vehicle, and is responsible for vehicle's inventory, maintenance and safe operation.
  • Must be able to be certified to operate a forklift.
  • Complies with standard safety precautions necessary to insure their safety, the safety of others and to prevent injuries/accidents.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills.
  • Time spent between Collections and Leak survey duties will be determined by the Supervisor.
  • May be required to work in another department as needed in accordance with Article IV, section
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good customer service orientation.
  • Ability to write legibly; operate a personal computer satisfactorily.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Possess the necessary physical abilities to perform the various job duties. Must be able to walk at least 10 miles per day in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, crawl, kneel, walk, climb, push, pull, lift and carry 20-50 lbs., twist, reach above and below shoulder levels, fine finger movements. Must be able to work in climates of extreme cold / extreme heat. Potential exposure to stinging insects / insecticides and possible requirement to be in Respirator Program.
